http://www.ritualwell.org/

Ritualwell aims to:

  • provide you with quality resources for contemporary Jewish liturgy and ritual.
  • give you access to creative innovation in Judaism.
  • empower you to use Jewish ritual and liturgy to meet your needs.
  • use the Web to connect Jews to a living Judaism.

What is a Jewish feminist ritual?

The creators of this site envision a world fully inclusive of women, men, and children, their voices, and the range of their experiencesbiological, communal, and personal. We strive toward a Judaism that names, embraces, and, when appropriate, sanctifies those experiences.

  • So, a bat mitzvah is a feminist ritual because it includes girls where previously they were not included.
  • A ritual for menopause is a feminist ritual because it sanctifies a life passage that our tradition has previously ignored.
  • And a ritual celebrating becoming a father is a feminist ritual because it also sanctifies a passage ignored by tradition and because feminist Judaism sanctifies the experiences of both men and women.

We also believe that protecting the earth, working for peace, fighting against racism, striving toward economic justice, and fighting for human rights are feminist causes. Wherever possible we will provide links to organizations working on these causes so that your ritualbe it a babynaming or a sedercan fully encompass your vision of the world.
