I have now been working for 5 years in the office of Women’s Ministries, first as the staff officer and since April 7, 2008, as the Program Officer.  I am thoroughly enjoying my work and am anxious to hear from all of you about your interests and concerns as women in the Episcopal Church.

Anna Paden
Women’s Ministries Intern

Anna Paden is a graduate of Georgetown University where she received her degree in International Public Health in 2006.  At Georgetown she became interested in Human Trafficking due to studying HIV. She started Students Stopping Trafficking of People, SSTOP and the group hosted a student conference that was attended by more than 20 other universities.  This conference lead to the creation of several SSTOP chapters at other universities, and many more student groups devoted to spreading awareness of Human Trafficking.  She spoke at the annual UN Conference on the Status of Women in 2006 about the Student’s Movement.  Since graduation she has continued to speak at conferences on the connection between the HIV/AIDS pandemic and Human Trafficking.  She is currently working for the Social Science Research Council as a HIV/AIDS research assistant.  She is planning on pursuing a PhD in Public Health.
